Professional Development in English Medium Instruction (EMI)
"It really was a life-changing experience for us all." - Hélène Morzadec, Université de Montpellier
Making Internationalisation a Success
Oxford EMI Ltd works with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) all over the world making internationalisation a success.
We provide professional development courses for academics who face the challenge of teaching their academic subject through English Medium Instruction (EMI). The courses are multidisciplinary with academics who teach Business, Finances, Economics, Engineering, Sciences and Humanites joining us on the programmes. They are experts in their fields teaching Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral students. We work with experienced academics and also post-docs who are just starting on their teaching career.
Our experienced team of teacher trainers, consultants and researchers understand how challenging teaching through a foreign language can be. Lecturing to a full hall of international students is not the same as speaking at a conference or reading an academic paper. Participants benefit from courses which are based on research into Education and EMI and from the exchange of practical ideas for making lectures interactive and motivating for all students on TNEs, joint degree programmes and in international classes.
Oxford EMI Training now offers online courses. These courses can be trainer-led (live lessons with Oxford EMI Trainers) or stand-alone courses that participants can complete in their own time.
Oxford and International Courses
We host courses here in Oxford throughout the year. We also travel and have taught EMI Professional Development courses in countries all over the world.
EMI Quality Mark and Consulting
We are partners with UK NARIC for the EMI Quality Mark and therefore have a deep understanding of English Medium Instruction (EMI) and international HEIs.
We work on capacity-building projects, on small and large-scale projects, as consultants.
We look forward to working with you and your institution.
