Supporting EMI Teachers: a short course in France for English specialists
Oxford EMI Training is organising a 3-day EMI course in partnership with l'Universite de Nantes in France.
This course is for universities who wish to create in-house support for their English Medium Instruction (EMI) lecturers.
If your university is going global, if you are an experienced English teacher wondering what EMI is all about and how your role might change in an EMI world, then this course is for you. As an English teacher working in an institution where EMI is being implemented, you may wish to gain an understanding of the needs of lecturers in other academic subjects such as Engineering, Business, Science, Humanities, who are faced with the challenge of teaching their academic subject through English. We will explore the theory behind EMI, analyse teaching and learning from a content teacher's perspective and propose and explore support strategies and interventions. There will be opportunities for you to work on your own specific support role and context.
This course will take place from 5-7 June 2018 at l'Universite de Nantes, in Nantes in France.
Tuition will be by Oxford EMI trainers.The course will run from Tuesday morning to Thursday afternoon.
Enrolment is open to qualified English teachers from any country.
TUITION FEES: £820 Eight hundred and twenty GB pounds per course participant.
Accommodation: there are very reasonable hotels near the university where the course will take place.
